Winter Storm Nemo

In case you're not an American or you just don't watch the news, this is what is going on in New England right now:

That's right, we're being attacked by a giant clown fish. See this my issue with meteorologists, they have no idea how to let us know something is serious. Obviously, I realize that they were probably  referencing Captain Nemo, or maybe even Gina Nemo ( the extremely famous actress who played Dorothy Pezzino in 21 Jump Street. No, not the movie with Channing Tatum, the TV show- in the eighties.)
But all anyone can associate it with is the Pixar film. I know that that's not what The Weather Channel had planned but really, what do they expect?
The exact same thing happened this fall when we named this:

After this:

At any rate, I have to say this storm has been awful. All yesterday  no one wanted to go anywhere because we were assured that to venture outside would mean certain death. So all day we hunkered down inside, made the most of what we thought would be the last bit of electricity( i.e. starting blogs) and prepared to die. Nothing happened.
Well it snowed, but this is the northeast, we don't get upset about every bit weather, it's not like we're LA or anything :
We grabbed our shovels moved the snow and we were fine. I know, because I stayed up watching Jimmy Fallon (making me one of ten people who actually did that) that the snow wasn't that heavy even at one in the morning. But somehow when I woke up at ten AM, this was outside:
We shoveled and plowed and carved our way out of the snow for a good four hours, but, it was still snowing at the time so, even now this it what the outside looks like:

Why? That is all I have to ask, why? Don't get me wrong, I love New England, but at times like this, I wish I was in California, complaining  about those chilly temperatures in the fifties.

Welcome to Sugar Sweet!

I'll be honest, I don't know what I'm doing here. I feel like I have so much to say, so much I want the world to hear about. But right now, my mind is blank. Maybe I've just heard far too much about Tavi Gevinson lately and thought, "Hey, maybe I can do that! After all I'm two years older than she was, when her blog was started. " Of course Tavi Gevinson had actual talent and style, but I'm sure that's a skill that can be... cultivated.
At any rate welcome to my blog. I'll probably post a lot of nonsense and my opinions on everything from music to fashion to politics. Welcome to Sugar Sweet!
